We played the (Layers of the Earth) game last week, and it was a success. I tried a bit of a hybrid of the two versions you sent - we played it outside, but in a smaller circle similar to what you recommended for the LE version. I just introduced three positions for the crust to keep things simple for my very young group - sitting, kneeling, and standing volcano - but we’ll try all of them next time. The children definitely had fun, and some of them have been playing the game during recess this week too. Thanks so much for sharing it with me!

When we tried the (Sustainability) game last year, it was a complete disaster. There was arguing, quitting, and the students left the experience angry and completely missing the point. That time, even our PE guide was like, "yeah, I never want to do that again." This time was different; however. Round 1 ended after only about 45 seconds - but the students were not discouraged. We failed an additional 4 times, but in round 6, we were finally successful for the first time ever! Better yet, after we debriefed the group, we overheard students saying, "I want to do that again." "Huzzah" moments like these are amazing to experience.

“We (I) have been following you for quite some time now, and love how you connect the learning aims for the school curriculum to PE, which is basically what Montessori considered the REAL PE should be.”

I watched your MPE Demo on YouTube and you are doing such great work! I came across your website via a Google Search while developing the curriculum for parents in my Online Montessori Home Education program. These are parents of 0-6 year olds (although I understand your focus is for elementary students). However, I have always been intrigued by Montessori Physical Education since I first heard about it in a Montessori conference in 2020/2021.

The students and I have been having so much fun with PE lessons in the almost week and a half since school began. The Sportsmanship lesson was fantastic--it spread out perfectly across four days to fit into the Middle School schedule, and it worked great across two days for both LE and UE. I loved the MS twist at the end!

LE and UE are moving on to the games that correspond to the First Great Lesson, and several teachers have commented on how excited they are for the carryover/overlap between their classroom and PE. I'm having fun choosing lessons to align with the MS curriculum.

I'll continue to send periodic updates as the year continues. Thank you so much for sharing all of the hard work and time you've put into creating this fantastic PE curriculum!

Hi- Your stuff looks so interesting! I teach a class of Lower Elementary students and am looking for engaging lessons to convey material in a different way, so I find your approach intriguing.
